What is this site? Vulcanears.com is a (not so) new book review site. A while back I was typing up a review of a good book I’d just read and I thought, why not do that for anything good I read and make it available online? Unfortunately that turned out to be a bit more time-consuming than expected, so the site isn’t quite as comprehensive as I would like.
Who are you? My name is William Springer and I‘m a PhD student at Colorado State University. My interests include science fiction and pretty much any game of skill. I’m currently studying text searching algorithms with applications in bioinfomatics.
Do you write all the reviews yourself? Yes. Accordingly, if you have similar taste, you’ll likely enjoy most of what I recommend. For the record, my tastes seem to be similar to those of Stanley Schmidt; at least, I enjoy almost everything he decides to publish in Analog.
Does your writing appear anywhere else? Yes. I used to write for Scrye magazine fairly regularly, and my work has also appeared in SIG-ACT News, Congressus Numerantium, and the Canadian Undergraduate Physics Journal..
